Theo Croker is a storyteller who talks through his trumpet. A creative who rejects all boundaries: an artist, composer, producer and influencer, nominated to the GRAMMY®️ Award and who projects his voice through the music.
After seven years in Shanghai, Croker is back with an original and seething sound on the album “Afro Physicist” in 2014, made with Dee Dee Bridgewater. After the success of “Escape Velocity” in 2016, he rose to a new atmosphere with “Star People Nation” in 2019, obtaining a nomination in the “Best Contemporary Instrumental Album” category at the 62° GRAMMY®️ Awards.
Croker has attracted wide acclaim by the critics, including the New York Times which has defined it as “an album that gallops from swirling hip-hop rhythms to propellant swing to enchanting passages of African percussion. In all of this, Croker’s composed trumpet leads his band with bravado and composure.”
In 2020, due to the pandemic, he takes refuge in his childhood home in Leesburg, Florida. Here, he lets himself go to a powerful flow of inspiration which takes him on an introspective journey that culminates in the vision and creation of his sixth and latest album “BLK2LIFE || A FUTURE PAST”, which was born, first of all, from an old and dying Fender Rhodes piano, the trumpet and his magical talent.
