Stagione concertistica Fazioli: Alessandro Taverna
5 April 2019
Hour: 20.45
Fazioli Concert Hall
Via Ronche 47

Hailed by the English music critics for his “music-making” able to “give rise to a feeling of wonderment as does a visit to his native Venice”, Alessandro Taverna has gained international recognition particularly after reaching the podium at the prestigious Leeds Competition in 2009. Since then, his career has led him to perform at the world’s most important concert venues.
He has performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras, collaborating with conductors like Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Chailly, Fabio Luisi and Daniel Harding. After graduating with special mention, he went on to study with Maestros like Franco Scala, Leonid Margarius, Boris Petrushansky and Louis Lortie at the Imola International Piano Academy, Sergio Perticaroli at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome and Arie Vardi in Hannover. In 2012, the Italian President Giorgio Napolitano honoured him with the “Premio Presidente della Repubblica” for his artistic achievements and international career. After the critical success of his album devoted to Nikolay Medtner, Taverna has recently recorded a new CD devoted to Debussy and Ravel for the English label SOMM.
