Discover Sacile, the “Garden of the Serenissima Republic” with a unique and unforgettable experience of a river excursion along the Livenza: on board small boats guided by experienced staff you slowly slide into the heart of the city, passing under ancient stone bridges and next to the sixteenth century façades of the warehouse palaces.
Throughout the journey, history, nature and local stories blend together, giving an intimate glance on a city that has been able to maintain the past charm and the riverscape harmony.

You are invited on a journey across 16th Century Europe. Characterised by court plots, business rivalries and diplomatic subterfuge, you will be exploring the enthralling life of Giacomo Ragazzoni.
The man himself will be greeting you in his period costume. He will be telling you about the Ragazzonis’ rise to power, when they quickly progressed from being regular merchants, to becoming the Counts of the Sant’Odorico fiefdom in Sacile, as well as highly regarded members of the Friulian Parliament of the time.
Your tour of the palazzo’s main floor, which houses the Hall of Honour, the Flags’ Hall and the sumptuous Emperors’ Hall, will enable you to discover the connections that the Ragazzoni family had established with the rulers of their day: Mary Tudor, Philip II of Spain, Henry III of France, Mary the Empress of Austria, Selim II the Sultan of Constantinople, and the Doge of Venice.

A tour in the historic centre of Sacile, along the riverbanks, is a possibility to discover the beautiful palaces from the fifteenth and sixteenth century in Piazza del Popolo with its Loggia, the Duomo di San Nicolò, the Chiesetta della Pietà, the sixteenth-century Palazzo Ragazzoni with its magnificently frescoed interiors, the borough of San Gregorio.

Discovering Livenza and its natural environment.
Live the experience of a river tour, let yourself be carried away by the current of the river Livenza, with its tranquil, clear, blue-green water.
Get into a dinghy (raft) and have fun! Qualified staff will accompany you on an unusual itinerary, discovering a lively natural environment, unexpected and unknown, with its medieval traces, arriving to the area where the ancient castle of Cavolano stood.

The excursion is suitable for everyone.
Sportswear and spare clothing (shoes) are recommended.
At meeting point, participants will be involved in a short training with instructors and experienced collaborators of the Canoa Club Sacile. Paddle and flotation vest will be provided.
